Visions & Ethos

Welcome to Carr Hill Primary and Nursery School.

At Carr Hill, our aim is to provide an environment where pupils are nurtured and encouraged to aspire to fulfil their dreams.

We provide an engaging and creative curriculum, offering our pupils a variety of enjoyable learning experiences. Pupils’ opinions are valued and their ideas help shape our curriculum. We also have an active School Council where pupils help to make real decisions about school life.

We have developed strong links with our community, which enriches the experiences and opportunities available to our pupils and their families. It is a priority for all our staff to develop a nurturing ethos where all children can flourish and develop to become everything that they aspire to be, both academically and personally.

I hope that our website gives you a flavour of our school and answers some of the questions that you may have; encouraging you to come and have a look around and experience first-hand everything that we have to offer your child as they embark on their exciting journey through primary education.

You are very warmly invited to visit us at work during the school day. Please contact the school office to arrange an appointment. I look forward to welcoming you to our school.

Across the majority of subjects, the school’s curriculum is well planned and sequenced. It is ambitious. It sets out what pupils will learn at each stage of their education. It builds incrementally over time. Parts of the curriculum are reviewed periodically to help pupils revisit what they have learned to strengthen their recall.

Senior leaders are determined that pupils receive a good quality of education. They have worked tirelessly to bring this about. They have built a staff team who share their vision for pupils to ‘Enjoy, Aspire and Flourish’. Staff say that they get the support they need to carry out their duties. Senior leaders check on how well the school’s curriculum is being taught and remembered by pupils in key stages 1 and 2.
