In Maths this week, we have been exploring the properties of 2D shapes. The week began with Nottinghamshire Police requiring our help…. A series of terrible incidents in the area had been reported. The crimes were committed by shape aliens. Witnesses have described who they saw but the police needed our help at matching shapes to the witness statements. Thankfully, after 2TP’s help, the Police have captured the criminals and the children have now written descriptions of them for the Police database. Case closed!
In English, the children have been completing last term’s non-fiction reports about Keeping Fit & Healthy. They all worked really hard to ensure that they met their writing targets. They have been exploring the spelling pattern ‘ey’, at the end of words. For example, key, valley, alley, monkey and money etc.
As part of Reading, the children have been working on the animation, The Way Back Home. http://www.literacyshed.com/thewaybackhome.html
The children have carried out some superb inference work, using characters’ actions and body language to help them.
Explorer of the Week was awarded to Ruby! Well done!
