In Maths this week, we have been exploring subtraction using Base 10 and drawing pictures. We have progressed to exchanging tens for ones to help us with this. We have also been solving problems involving subtraction.

In English we have been polishing our Polar Express poems and creating best copies. Please have a look at some of the examples. We have also been creating text maps based on the main events of the story. We have been writing key words and time connectives for each stage of the story and then used the book to help us magpie magical words, which will help us with a written re-telling.

In spelling we have been looking at the ‘I’ sound, spelt ‘y’ at the end of words e.g. reply, shy, fly, cry etc.

In preparation for the Christmas Enterprise, we have decided to create Christmas tree decorations to sell. The children have created some fantastic designs and are looking forward to getting going with making them next! Watch this space!

The children are currently working hard, rehearsing for our Christmas Production. I’ve been really impressed with the way the children have learnt their lines really well. Their singing is also sounding amazing - well done everyone.

Our Explorer of the Week is Lilly. She always shows excellent behaviour for learning.
