23rd January 2017

This week, we have been using our sets of steps to help us solve addition and subtraction problems. We thoroughly enjoyed using salt dough to make bakery items for our classroom bakery. We also used our measuring skills as part of the challenge! We have been reading scales to help us measure mass.

We have continued to enjoy Traction Man by Mini Grey. We have been using freeze frames to help us explore thoughts and feelings of characters. In spelling, we have been exploring the spelling pattern ‘y’, at the end of words as in: cry, reply, try etc.

In Topic, we have been writing diaries in the style of Samuel Pepys, retelling the events from his eyes as the story unfolds.

On Wednesday morning, we had a brilliant time at the dance festival at the Elizabethan Academy. The session was led by Dawn Staples. We enjoyed learning routines to Disney music, which included a large routine to music from ‘The Lion King.’

Explorer of the Week was awarded to Daisy, for sensible attitude and hard work.

We earned 9 handshakes this week! Well done everyone!
