This week, we have been exploring using rounding to estimate answers to addition or subtraction calculations. This has helped us then see if our actual calculation is realistic or likely to be correct! We learned that if a number ends in 1,2,3 or 4 you round down to the nearest the number but if it ends in 5,6,7,8,or 9, you round up to the next ten number.
We have been planning our own ideas to make elf traps for the cheeky elf, who is currently causing chaos around the school. We have begun to write out sets of instructions. Let’s hope someone’s instructions for an elf trap actually work and we can trap the mischievous pest!!
We had a fantastic time on Thursday, creating our Santa Sweetie Cones, ahead of Monday’s Christmas Enterprise Craft Fair. The children weighed out the stock, bagged it into cone bags and added finishing touches. The children thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot about weighing and working as part of a team. Well done everyone!
Explorer of the Week was awarded to Thomas K, for sensible attitude and hard work.
We earned 10 handshakes this week! Well done everyone!
