Maths
This week, we have been learning to use dienes to subtract two 2-digit numbers when exchanging is needed
e.g. 57 - 28 =.
Once we mastered this with the physical equipment, we moved onto drawing our working out. We have all impressed Mrs Nelson a lot this week!

English
We have been inventing new stories this week. We children have been creating their own characters and writing about them in their new settings. We had all sorts of characters from crabs to tigers to hedgehogs! We used similes and adjectives to make our writing exciting.
In spelling, we have done lots of work with the Y2 Common Exception Words. We have been learning to spell: world, station, find, kind, behind, mind and wild. We noticed that spelling by analogy helped us to learn some of these words.

We have been learning about why we remember Bonfire Night and have made some super Bonfire collages, using tissue paper to create the flames. We also had a brilliant time carving a HUGE pumpkin, sent in by Katie’s Grandad!

On Wednesday, we learned about voting and enjoyed listening to each other try to persuade the class to vote them as School Council representatives. We them had a secret vote and once the votes were counted and verified, it was announced that Max C and Kyla would be representing 2 Tim Peake at the councillor meetings this year. Well done to them but also to the other nominees.

Explorer of the Week was awarded to Samuel, for constant sensible attitude and hard work.
Attendance this week was 94.4%
