This week in English we have been improving our sentences by adding adverbials to the main clause. Early on in the week we practised these skills by writing sentences that incorporated effective adverbials. By the end of the week we had the confidence to include these in our information text about children's jobs in the Victorian era.
This week in maths we have been learning about the value of each digit in a number (place value). In order to help us we drew a place value grid on our mini whiteboards and experimented with different sized numbers.
Roald Dahl day
On Friday we celebrated Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday. Staff and children dressed up as popular characters from his books or some decided to wear yellow (Roald Dahl’s favourite colour). Our class were really excited to create some Quentin Blake inspired artwork. I have to say some of the work produced was absolutely fantastic.
Our star of the week is Macualay Hirrel for listening carefully and following instructions.
Our attendance this week is 98.9% therefore we received a class certificate.
We received 12 handshakes this week, meaning we were joint first as Class of the Week.
