Science: In science we began to plan our friction experiment. We aim to find which floor surface would be the most suitable for the dining room at Ironbridge. To achieve this we must  find how much force is needed in order for the boot to slide.  Below is a picture of our equipment set up.

Enterprise project: In the enterprise challenge, children began to think about cost effective ways to produce our product.  We had some interesting debates and discussions and I believe we are on the way to creating a quality product.

Pilgrim fathers: We were invited to Retford Town Hall, to mark the celebrations of the pilgrim fathers. In the 1600’s the pilgrim fathers saw little chance of England becoming a country in which they wished to live. By  1620 one hundred Puritans boarded the ‘Mayflower’ bound for the U.S.A, where they eventually settled.
Both year 5 classes had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a play titled ‘The Promise Land’, which gave the audience a brief insight into the history of the  pilgrim fathers.

We received 3 handshakes this week, this was considerably lower than the winning total. Keep on working hard and we will try again next week.
