3rd December 2017

We started our week by singing the song “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”. It is a rhyme most of us know well but we wanted to find out what it could teach us about real stars. We looked at diamonds and described how they look, talked about the world and Planet Earth and where the stars are in the sky. We even learnt that a group of stars is called a constellation!

Our provision this week was all about stars. We compared the number of points on the stars and whether all the points were the same size. The children had great fun making stars using lots of different materials.

We made a start on our Christmas Enterprise Challenge. We rolled out salt-dough and cut out star shapes. We have to let them dry for a few days before we can paint them. We are looking forward to selling them in the school hall on December 13th.

We finished the week by performing “Mary’s Knitting” with the full time children on the stage in the hall. The children wore homemade star headbands and made everyone very proud, especially with our super singing. We will be sharing more pictures very soon!
