9th December 2017

This week we found out lots of information about Christmas trees. We learned that they are usually fir trees that stay green all winter and don’t lose their leaves. The children were fascinated to learn that the leaves were actually called needles…but not like knitting needles! We visited the real tree in the courtyard and found the needles were very spiky.

We had great fun counting stars on trees, ordering numbers, improving our fine motor skills and also being very creative with decorating trees.

We all chose a decoration for our tree in Nursery and at the end of the week we made a graph to see which decoration we liked best.

We decorated the salt-dough stars we have made for the enterprise challenge. We will be selling these for 50p. All we need to do now is to think of a good way to hang them from a tree!
