World Book Day
This is the 19th year there has been a World Book Day and, on 3rd March 2016, children at Carr Hill participated in their own celebration of reading. The children made a fantastic effort to come to school dressed as a book character and classes also enjoyed the secret book swap.
During the day, each child designed a new national book token as part of a school competition. Winners will be announced next week. At the end of the day, children were visited in their classroom by a teacher from a different class who read a story to them.
Staff have also recorded new story time sessions and these can be viewed HERE.
The children were all given a £1 book token which can be exchanged for one of the specially produced World Book Day books or, alternatively, the children can put the voucher towards the cost of a new book of their choice.
Thank you to parents and carers who helped the children to organise costumes and books on the day.
