27th March 2017

A huge thank you to everyone who helped to support Red Nose Day this year. We came to school wearing something red, we had our noses painted red or wore comic relief noses and we also enjoyed a tasty biscuit. In the afternoon, we told each other our favourite jokes!

As part of our work on Places of Worship, on Tuesday we visited the Madina Masjid mosque in Sheffield. We had a great day learning more about the religion of Islam. We enjoyed watching a demonstration of ‘Wudu’, which is where a Muslim will wash and prepare for prayer and were amazed by the enormous chandelier in the prayer room! The visit was a completely new experience for many of us and we learned a lot.

There were four very smiley faces on Friday when Katy, Adwyn, Korben and Daisy F were awarded their very own pen licence. Their handwriting was deemed to be consistently neat and joined that they can now use a special pen to complete their work. Well done!

This week, we enjoyed trying a variety of new foods. We tucked in to naan breads, chapattis, poppadoms, vegetable samosas, pakoras, curry sauce, mango chutney and yogurt and mint dips.

This week we had 99.2% attendance so we won another certificate. We are in the process of deciding what to have as a reward. Our handshake score earned us class of the week! Well done everyone!
