This week in Mathematics we have been learning time tables through songs! We have been playing games, making x3 fortune tellers and completing multiplication wheels to help us improve our recall for x3, x4 and x8 facts. We have also used dienes to support us when carrying out formal multiplication methods in our books.

In PE, we have started our work with Mrs Tuddenham. To link with our topic of Romans, we are leaning to dance using key moves that a Roman soldier may have needed in battle!

We have finished our reports about our own giants. We learned a model text called ‘The Tree Giant’ by Pie Corbett and then we changed key elements by inventing our own giant. As well as the content, we thought carefully about organising our texts by using subheadings and topic sentences, subordinating conjunctions and relative clauses. Read some examples below.

This week we won the attendance trophy with a percentage of 99.2%! A huge well done to everyone. We earned 16 handshakes and Korben was our ‘Champion of the Week’ for great work in Maths.

Gosia has been doing lots of reading at home and she was lucky enough to win the Reading Lottery. Well done, Gosia!

A big thank you to everyone who has signed up to Marvellous Me. We have enjoyed sending badges and activities this week so that you can see the great things we are doing in school!
