On Wednesday we had a lovely walk around Retford town centre, we were looking for local landmarks and key features of Retford. This will lead us onto comparing Retford with Christchurch, New Zealand. Thank you to all the parent helpers, and the children for making us all so proud!
The Year Two’s also had another trip to Kings Park, to meet their new classmates from Hallcroft Primary School. They made bracelets, had a picnic and played together. Hopefully everyone is excited for Year Three now!
In English we have been planning our pirate story. We have written character descriptions, story settings and practised using lots of exciting language!
In maths we have continued to learn about 3D shapes and their properties.
This week we have been annotating story maps for ‘Kassim and the Greedy Pirates Treasure’. We know the story really well now, and will be using our knowledge of it to help us create our own stories soon!
In maths we have been learning about the properties of 2D shapes, including how many sides, corners and lines of symmetry.

This week we had transition day, we met our new teachers, in our new classrooms and met some new friends too!
