27th March 2017

Our attendance this week was 99.4%

In Maths this week we have using our maths knowledge to tackle SATs questions.  We have been revising all the skills we need to help us be successful in our assessments and then working on the key areas that we have forgotten to ensure that we are successful.  As we discuss more SATS questions and answer them in pairs, we are finding that they become less scary and we gain confidence in our skills and knowledge.  Mrs Hilton is really proud of us for this.

Our English this week has had the focus of SPAG – we have developed our understanding of the subjunctive mood (yes we can identify it) and the passive voice compared with the active voice.  We understand that this is a really good technique to use to hide the subject and can create more tension in story writing and are able to identify sentences that are written in the passive or active voices and can change from one to the other.  We are looking forwards to using all the writing elements that we have practised over the last few weeks in our Kensuke’s Kingdom writing next week.

This week, our handshakes total was 5.

Our Star of the Week this week is Olivia for the superb work ethic that she displays in all aspects of her work. She is incredibly conscientious and applies this positive attitude to all her work which is having a positive effect on the quality of her work.  Well done Olivia – keep up the hard work.
