13th March 2017

Our attendance this week was 91.9%

In Maths this week we have been learning how to find percentages of amounts.  This was quite straight forward as long as we were finding percentages that were multiples of 10. However when we had to find percentages such as 5%, we found this a bit more tricky as we weren’t able to see the links to begin with.  However our perseverance paid off as we were able to create a connections diagram where we were given a 100% fact and we had to generate as many link as we could.  It really helped us to see the links.

Our English this week has focused on the storm in Kensuke’s Kingdom: we have created freeze frames of the film and written about the scene using metaphors, onomatopoeia, dynamic verbs and effective adjectives.  We have been trying to incorporate all the work we have covered previously into our writing to ensure it is the best it can possibly be.

This week, our handshakes total was 4.

Our Star of the Week this week is Jude because he has shown many qualities designed to support his peers this week. I am really impressed with the quality of your partnered work. Continue working in this way Jude and you will certainly be a very popular member of any class.  Well done.
