Welcome to the first blog of the school year form class 3 Mo Farah. What a busy first week it has been!

Each class has created their own charter based on our school rule which is respect yourself, respect others and respect school.

We have enjoyed choosing new books in the library this week. We need to remember to read at least 4 times each week and to bring our book to school each day.

In English, are going to be writing biographies about Mo Farah. This week we have been sorting and ordering paragraphs of text about the author, Roald Dahl. We discussed the order and gave reasons for our choices. We have also started to identify the features of text which aims to inform.

This week in Maths we have looking at place value. We have enjoyed using the base 10 and place value counters to represent different numbers.

In Science we have started to explore light. We used mirrors and tinfoil and investigated how we could see more or less in the mirror by moving it around.

Tilly has brought her own book in to school this week as she recognised that it was a story all about respect. We have really enjoyed listening to the story and we were that impressed by Tilly’s thoughtfulness that we entered her on to Mrs Alford’s Hall of Fame. Well done and thank you, Tilly!

This week our attendance was 98.6%. Handshakes are rolled over to next week!
