19th September 2016

Welcome to 5 Mary Anning Blog (Mr Beswarick’s class)

Our attendance this week was 99.8% and was the best in the school.

Roald Dahl Celebration: A big thank-you to everyone involved in helping the children to look the part. The character costumes and splashes of yellow looked stunning! We identified favourite moments from Roald Dahl’s books and then tried to take on the role of Quentin Blake, the illustrator who gave the unique style to the pictures.

English: This week, we have explored the types of jobs that children were forced to tackle within Victorian times. Within our writing, we are aiming to use fronted adverbials while explaining our ideas, taking on the role of someone who is an expert about Victorian times and works at a museum.

Maths: Within our Maths work, we have explored Place Value and have been developing our ability to read and compare numbers with up to seven digits.

This week we collected 5 handshakes, but this was not enough to win the Class of the Week Trophy.
