6th March 2017

In maths this week we have been learning how to divide into decimal places e.g. 203 divided by 5. We have been working out new ways to divide decimal numbers with bus stop method. Mrs Gater’s group went out and worked with two decimal places instead of one decimal place with the bus stop method.

In English this week we played a silly sentence game, e.g. we had to include determiners, verbs, nouns, adjectives and prepositions. We have also been doing some SPAG tests and discussing what we got wrong with our partner.

In topic we have been learning how to paint in detail. First we colour washed our paper then added detail to our painting. The reason we colour washed was because the backgrounds were different colour like sunset colours. They were of Australian landscapes because that was one of the places Michael visited on his journey in Kensuke’s Kingdom.

World book day
World book day was lots of fun! We got to dress up as our favourite book character. There were lots of wonderful and weird costumes. There were biscuits and parents came in and we went to three different class rooms and did different activities based on book by Shaun Tan.

Reading corner
In our reading corner we got a new sofa, some fairy lights and some candles. Everyone was surprised when we saw it. We are very happy and can’t wait for our next reading session.

Our attendance this week was 98.4%.

We won the trophy back this week with a total of 38 handshakes!
Superstar assembly
