This week in English we wrote a short story based on the short film anchored. We had to add lots of powerful vocabulary and adverbials to make our sentences and paragraphs much more interesting. We also looked at the poem Jabberwocky before performing it in groups to the rest of the class.
In maths the majority of the class were practicing metric conversions, e.g. cm – m or m - km. Some of us went out with Mrs Gator and were converting kilometers and miles using the fractions 5/8 and 8/5. We had to answer multi-step questions to show our understanding of this method.
During topic we did something a bit different. We made small origami cranes. We watched a video off YouTube, following it step by step. At the end of the lesson we had our own origami cranes. We have also started to read the book Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo.
This week in spelling we were practicing our “ough” words. To do this we played a game before being tested on them.
This week our attendance was 94.4%.
This week we earned 12 handshakes.
