English – In English this week we have been building up to writing an emotive diary entry in the role of Jim from the story ‘Street Child’. We discussed the different sections of the story that the children could use as the basis for their diary and then looked at how Jim’s emotions altered based on the events in the story. Next week, we will be editing this diary entry to make it even better!

Maths – This week’s mathematics work has been based on problem solving using addition and subtraction. We are becoming much better at unpicking a problem and deciding which steps we need to take in order for us to solve the problem successfully.  Next week, we will start to do the same for multiplication.

Harvest Assembly – A big thank you to everyone who donated food for our Harvest Festival. If you missed the assembly, the children did us proud with their wonderful singing and clear reading. The video will shortly be on the school website for you to view.

Our Star of the Week this week was Natasha for her wonderful start to the new year. Everything that she has done so far has been of the highest quality which is testament to all of her hard work.
We were pipped to first place for Class of the Week by Miss King’s class – so close!
Attendance was 96.6%
