10th October 2016

English: Our work on the suspense story ‘Red Eye’ is now progressing. This week, we have spent some time looking at the language in the story that is unfamiliar to use and then used strategies to help us try and understand the words that have been used.

Maths: Our maths work this week has been based on solving addition and subtraction problems using a range of different methods. We discussed how it can be useful to visualise a problem to help us understand it and consequently answer it correctly.  Below is an example of the Singapore Bar method which is one of the methods we have looked at this week.

Art: We have started looking at the art work of LS Lowry as part of our topic. Lowry was famous for creating industrial landscapes, similar to some of the buildings and structures that we saw on our recent visit to Ironbridge.

Our Star of the Week was Oliver because of his fantastic attitude not only this week, but also since the start of term.

We managed to receive 4 handshakes this week.
Our attendance this week was 97.5%
