King’s Park Visit

An exciting invitation arrived at school when we were asked to visit the building site for the new play area in King’s Park. Wearing hard hats and high visibility jackets, children from Carr Hill represented their local community as the building of this major new development really got underway. A tour of the site gave the children a detailed idea of the work required to organise the water and electricity supplies needed by the water canon play area, the café and the performance area.

Earlier in the year, we took part in a vote to consider different plan options for the splash park. A real ballot was carried out and the result was announced to the school using returning officers. Our visit marks the beginning of a building programme that should see children, from Carr Hill and many other schools, using a community resource that they helped to choose.
