Last week’s mathematics focussed on formal method multiplication. We answered several series of questions and slowly are confidence grew and Mr Haslam was very impressed by our work. He even gave use an investigation were we needed to work systematically. Whilst some of us found this quite difficult but we were generally successful. Below are a couple of examples of our work.
For English, we started working with our new text, Pie Corbett’s ‘The Tree Giant’. We did started by marking predictions and asking questions after reading small sections of the text. As the week as moved on we began to use actions to help us learn some of the excellent language features that we had identified in the piece of writing.
Last week was Anti-bullying week. We designed posters to go with the national campaign, Power for Good. A couple of examples have been included below.
On Friday it was Children in Need. We all entered the Pudsy drawing contest. Obviously, we came to school in something spotty and enjoyed eating the Pudsy Bear biscuits.
We collected six handshakes.
Our attendance was a very disappointing 90%.
Our composer of the week was Memet for the effort that he put into his mathematics work and the notes that he made when we looked at the language used on the Tree Giant.
