In English we have been continuing our work on poetry. The children have been learning different techniques on how to create poetry and then having a go in pairs. They have also completed a ‘slow write’ where the children were writing a descriptive piece about a volcano and they had to focus on certain features.

In Maths we have been continuing our work on fractions. This week the children have been using the bar method to find the fractions of amounts and to answer word problems. Examples of this can be seen below:

In Science the children have been learning about the Water Cycle. After our discussions they created their own water wheels which includes all of the features of the water cycle.

On Thursday it was World Book Day. The children had a fabulous day and all looked fantastic in their outfits! They really enjoyed the books and biscuits activity and doing focused work on our book, Into The Forest by Anthony Browne.

Our ‘Champion of the Week’ is Ruby because she has produced a fantastic shield for her homework and she has been doing lots of work at home on I am Learning. Well done Ruby!

We received fifteen handshakes this week.
