27th March 2017

This week has been very exciting and we have been doing lots of different things.

In Maths and English it has been Assessment week. Therefore the children have been tested in Maths, Reading and SPAG. The children all tried really hard and they did very well. Well done everyone!

On Monday the children went to Clumber Court Care Home to take along the cakes which we had bought from some of the money raised from our Christmas Enterprise. The children sang three different songs and enjoyed talking to the residents. The children were also all given a drink and a biscuit! We had a lovely morning and hope we can return again soon.

On Tuesday we went to visit the mosque in Sheffield. We had a fantastic morning and learnt so much! We were given a tour of the mosque and learnt all about the history of Islam. The children were particularly impressed with the huge chandelier!

On Wednesday the children got to try a range of exciting foods! They enjoyed trying lots of different types of food including naan bread, poppadoms and a range of different dips and sauces. Some of the children were braver than others when trying the food but everyone tried at least one thing!

On Friday we also planted our potatoes! All of the classes have been given five potatoes each to grow in a small plot and there will be prizes available to the best ones. The children really enjoyed this and they all played a role in planting them.

Our ‘Champion of the Week’ is Jayden because he has been making a big effort to improve his handwriting. Well done Jayden!

We received nine handshakes.
