In English this week we have been finishing off our work on poetry. The children have had a go at using alliteration, repeated phrases, similes and rhyming words. They then applied these skills to writing their own poem about a giant robot. The children produced some fabulous work and I am really proud of them all.

In Maths we have been continuing our work on fractions. The children have been answering worded problems using the bar methods. They have also been finding the correct number of fractions to make a whole one.

In Science we have started a new topic, Magnetism. The children began the topic by doing some experiments with the magnets. They moved around the room trying to attach them to different objects and discovered lots of interesting information about magnets.

In PE the children are enjoying our new topic, Tag Rugby. This week they learnt about the rules when passing the ball and they worked together in groups to improve their throwing and catching skills.

Our ‘Champion of the Week’ is Brooke because of her fantastic work on fractions this week. Well done Brooke!

We received eleven handshakes.
