In English the children have been writing their own version of the Ice Cat using powerful verbs, complex sentences and inverted commas to punctuate speech. They have also been thinking about their personal targets and they have been using descriptive words to make their writing more interesting.

In Maths we have been learning about time. We have been doing lots of practise on the number of seconds in a minute, minutes in an hour and days in each month etc. If you could continue to practise this at home it would be appreciated. We have also been learning to tell the time using an analogue clock and most of the children can now do this confidently. We also finished off our perimeter work by designing and then making a Roman fort using Lego.

In Topic the children have been designing their own poster based on what they have learnt about Hadrian’s Wall. The children have produced some fabulous work which is now on display in the classroom.

On Friday the children visited Elizabethan Academy for their Science and Technology day. The children were fantastically behaved and were a real credit to the school. They completed different activities including making a healthy salad, measuring the sugar content of drinks and conducting science experiments using different chemicals and types of food.

The children have their last swimming lesson next week. They have all made fantastic progress and will hopefully achieve a few more badges and stages.

Our ‘Champion of the Week’ is Callume because of his fantastic work in Maths. Well done Callume!

We received two handshakes and got 96.8% attendance.
