In English the children have had a go at writing their own poem as part of our ‘cold task’ and they have been looking at different types of poems as well as working in a group to learn the poem, ‘The Coming of the Iron Man’.
In Maths we have started our new topic, Fractions. We began by using Haribo’s to write down the fractions of different sweets from their packs and they then combined their sweets with a partner to create new fractions. The children really enjoyed this activity and couldn’t wait to eat their sweets! Following this we spent time on counting in tenths both forwards and backwards as well as finding the fractions of shapes.
In ICT all the children had a go on I am Learning and this is accessible from home. I have added some homework tasks for the children to have a go at. The link is here:
Just a quick reminder that Thursday is World Book Day. I am really looking forward to seeing everybody’s costumes!
Some of the children have already brought in their topic homework and the shields are looking fantastic! Well done.
Our ‘Champion of the Week’ is Lily because she has worked so hard this week and has produced some brilliant fractions work. Well done Lily!
We received eleven handshakes this week.
