15th May 2017

In English this week the children have started work on a new topic, newspaper reports. We began by looking at a newspaper report about Climate Change and the children used Talk4Writing actions to help them learn the text.

In Maths this week we have also started a new topic, this time on shape. For our first lesson we recapped on the different 2D shapes and then we looked at the angles found in these shapes. The children were fantastic at this and were quickly finding lots of angles including right angles. The children then made their own compasses and used these to help them work out where they would be after quarter turns, half turns etc.

In Topic we have been continuing our work on Rainforests.

In PE the children are really enjoying Gymnastics with Mr Bell. Photos of this can be seen below.

Our ‘Champion of the Week’ is Brooke because she has been working hard on all of her work but she has particularly impressed me in spelling and maths. Well done Brooke!
