19th March 2018

We finished our assessments at the beginning of the week, so normality (our sort of normality!) resumed.

English
We continue to read “The Fire-maker’s Daughter” and carry out associated learning activities.  Amongst our tasks, we’ve carried out a Cold Task, where we have tried to write a conversation between two characters and in order to improve our grammar, we’re going to learn how to use the key features of speech.  This includes using inverted commas to surround speech, new speaker – new line, reporting clause and ensuring all punctuation falls inside the closing inverted comma.  After our learning, we’ll carry out the Hot Task, where we’ll include all our learning.

Maths
We finished learning “Statistics,” which included interpreting data in pictograms and bar charts and have moved on to our next topic, Length and Perimeter.  Our Cold Task has been carried out and now we’re going to fill in any gaps with active learning.

Topic
Our topic, “Rocks” is complete and we progress to R.E.

Captain Jack’s
It was our visit to Captain Jack’s and our behaviour was impeccable.  A fitting tribute to Seth
