Welcome to 5 Jacques Cousteau Blog (Mr Beswarick’s class)

We have now completed our first full week in Year 5!

Introducing an Urban Pioneer called Banksy: Is Graffiti a form of art or just an eye-sore that should be banned? We explored some of the images and messages left by the mysterious artist known as Banksy before creating a stencil to recreate one of his designs.

Our Class Charter: Respect is the central theme of our agreement. We were able to explain how we wanted our class to operate within our school so that everyone feels safe and is in a good position to learn.

Maths: We have a thinking challenge underway with prizes to be collected, but as yet nobody has explained the logical reasoning required! (From a large amount of milk, I’d like you to measure me just a pint to drink. You can have a 5 pint jug and a 3 pint jug with which to complete your task, but the jugs do not have a scale on them. Please let me know how you could measure me just a single pint of milk, your prize awaits you!)

We have been using Place Value to read and order numbers using up to 7 columns.
