Having realised that we had an unfair advantage with Grace earning a handshake every day for doing some office jobs before school, we have turned those in to stars for her instead and brought ourselves in line with the rest of the school. That has presented us with a challenge to maintain our healthy handshake totals – we won convincingly this week with 31! Well done to the children who earned them.

Our attendance was not good enough to warrant winning an award this week with one or two pupils being away. We scored 97.4% so let’s hope that everyone makes that extra bit of effort to get in to school this coming week.

Marvellous Me!
Our launch has been very successful and well received so far. Children are enjoying seeing the messages and badges being sent home to their parents and we sincerely love sending them  In general, anyone scoring full marks or improved marks on a spelling test, 100% for an AR Quiz or improved marks/144 out of 144 in a speed square will get something nice in recognition of their achievement. Of course, there are lots of other ways to earn badges too but I’ll let you wait and see what they are!

PE
We have Mrs Tuddenham teaching us some Combat Dance this term which will link well to our topic on Romans. Children need their indoor PE kit (white top, navy bottoms) on Tuesday afternoons if you could help them to be prepared please?

Home reading
There are still a group of children who are not reading at home, wither on their own or with an adult. Can I remind everyone that, not only is it beneficial to the individual’s reading skills to keep up their  efforts but it can be great fun learning about characters and scenarios. There is also the fabulous half termly Reading Lottery to enter. Aaron won it recently which was great because he really has developed his home reading lately.

It's great to see that over 70% of parents have already signed up to the Marvellous Me App!

Marvellous Me is a free app which tells you marvellous news about your child’s learning and positive behaviours. If you haven’t already signed up then please speak to the school office or sign up at one of the links below.
