A busy week again with 17 handshakes earned! Unfortunately, our attendance score was low due to persisting illnesses but we can aim to do better this week.
Superstars in Assembly!
We worked really hard to put together a class version of ‘The Sound Collector’, a poem by Roger McGough. We studied it in detail during Guided Reading and then the children were challenged to create lines of their own. These lines were fitted into the rhyming structure of the original poem and voila! A new poem was born! We emailed Mrs Alford to ask if we could perform it to her and she invited us to share it with the whole school in Superstar Assembly. We thoroughly enjoyed standing in front of the school to recite our poem and felt very proud of ourselves.
This week is going to be a mixture of assessments for this term and of course, preparing our goodies for the Christmas Enterprise on Monday. We are very excited! Our classroom will be transformed into an exciting shop with things to sell to children and visitors.
Finally, don’t forget to visit the Button Club Christmas tree and Star display in both St Swithun’s and Grove Street Methodist church. Some of our class were involved in the making of the decorations.
‘Giant’ projects are due in on Monday.
