3rd October 2016

Attendance fell sharply last week with a week long absence for a holiday and a couple of illnesses. Our final percentage was 92.6%. On the positive side of things, we still managed to win 'Class of the Week', retaining the cup for the second week running.

In English, we are now concentrating on improving our sentences to include fronted adverbials and three pieces of detailed action. For example,

Fortunately, the giant tripped over a boulder, reached out for his stolen harp and grumbled as he hit the floor.

In mathematics, we will be working on a range of addition strategies but will revisit the place value and rounding work covered last week.

Reminders: Lots of clubs start this week so pick up times may vary.
Reading still needs to happen each night as part of the expected homework routine please. Please send any slips in to school at your earliest convenience
