30th January 2017

We have had lots of fun measuring items in the classroom using measuring tapes and rulers.  We had to estimate the length, width or height of an object and then measure it accurately.
“It was exciting to learn about measurement.” Faith
You could now practise measuring things in and around your home.  Bring in your measurements to show the class, you could even take photographs.

In English we have been learning how to punctuate direct speech correctly, ready for when we write our own version of the ‘Ice Cat’.

I really liked learning about it, and I learnt that I need to include speech marks before and after someone speaks

In PE we have continued to learn about the Romans and this week we put together a dance about what the Romans liked to do in their spare time.  The class was split into four groups: slaves, masters, dancers or musicians. The masters lay in the centre of the room, ordering the slaves to bring them drink or food whilst being entertained by dancers and musicians.

The ‘Champion of the Week’ is Daisey for her continued hard work and effort in lessons.  Daisey has made a continued effort to progress in Maths.  Well done Daisey!

3ES earnt 8 handshakes this week, and we are very proud that Mrs Alford awarded us one for being a lovely class and making our teachers happy.

Attendance was 95.8% this week.
