In English this week we have started looking at a new piece of text called ‘The Tree Giant’. It is a piece of fictional text and describes what Tree Giant’s are and their habitats. We hope to include a video of us performing part of the text in our next blog after practising it next week.
It has been ‘Anti-Bullying Week’ and we used a program called Wordle to design posters using words linked to the topic. We brainstormed as a class and then typed the words into the program and the results were amazing. Mrs Brown is going to frame some of our work and have it displayed around the school, as well as sending those children to Mrs Alford for her Hall of Fame.
Alannah, Jayden and Ruby will have their designs displayed first.
In maths we have continued learning how to multiply using arrays and Mrs Smith taught an exciting lesson where we got the opportunity to paint to show our calculations. We loved it! We are now moving on to multiplying TU x U using the written grid method.
We have all been enjoying participating in ‘Take 5’ at different times of the day. Two children from our class, Ruby and Jason, are going to train to be Ambassador’s for ‘Take 5’ so that they can show us different ways to practice our breathing techniques.
Today has been ‘Children In Need Day’ and we have come dressed in spots, brought injured teddies, eaten Pudsey biscuits and raised money for the charity.
Our ‘Champion of the Week’ is Honey as she was so helpful during our ICT lesson, and has been working extra hard in English to improve her writing. Well done Honey!
This week we earnt two handshakes but we had the highest attendance throughout the school, so won ‘The Attendance Trophy’. Well done 3ES!
