3rd October 2016

In English we have been continuing to learn the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.  We have also ‘boxed-up’ the story which will help us when we write our own version of the traditional tale.

We have been continuing to learn our spellings, focusing upon:

Children should be practising these at home and know which ones they need to learn.

In Maths we have been solving word problems by using different mental strategies including partitioning, in order to help us calculate the answers.
Our rehearsals for the ‘Harvest Festival’ are well under way and children will be bringing home song words to learn.

We had great fun learning a famous song by Bob Marley called ‘The Three Little Birds’.  Children enjoyed moving to the pulse of the music and learning the words.  Watch this space for our wonderful singing next week!

We earnt 6 handshakes this week for caring and helping others when we saw the need arise.

Our ‘Champion of the Week’ is Taome who has continually worked hard and showed determination every lesson, but especially in maths.  Well done Taome!

Attendance this week was 97.9% So close to a voucher!
