In English we have been continuing to learn the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. We have used the iPhone text generator tool to help us build a conversation between two of the characters from the story. We were then able to turn this conversation into ‘direct speech’ in preparation for our story writing.
In Maths we have been working on our written addition skills. The children were introduced to the ‘column method’ as a form of recording/working out. All of the children in the class persevered with this method even when the concept of ‘regrouping’ and ‘carrying’ numbers was introduced.
It would be fantastic if the children could demonstrate their knowledge in this area to someone at home!
The children have been continuing to practise their songs for the Harvest Festival and have all created an acrostic poem based on words linked to the theme. We look forward to sharing some of these next week!
We had a fantastic discussion this week about the children’s aspirations for the future. We look forward to seeing our aspirations, and those of the other children in the school, displayed in the hall over the next coming term.
Attendance this week was 98.8% So we got a voucher!
