We have worked very hard this week, so much so, three children were in the hall of fame this week!

In maths this week we have been using our number bonds to 10 to work out our number bonds to 100. For example, if we know 6 + 4 = 10, we can work out that 60 + 40 = 100. Our understanding of 10 being 10 times bigger than 1 helped us understand this.

We have also been learning how to add and subtract ones, and how to work out 10 more and 10 less. This will help us next week when we learn to add and subtract 10s.

Alesha and Olivia W were in the Hall of Fame for their fabulous maths work this week, as they used their knowledge of number bonds to 10, to help them work out their number bonds to 100! They even used their number bonds knowledge to work out how many number bonds there were to 90!

In English, we have used our descriptive sentences to produce a 3D Bonfire Poem. We have also been using interesting adjectives to describe fireworks. We used these to write a fireworks poem.

Kenzie was also in the Hall of Fame this week for working very hard on his bonfire poem!
