In English the children wrote the cold task for an exclamation text about the ‘snoozatron’ from Wallace and Gromit.

In Maths the children have been adding and subtracting fractions as well as answering problem solving questions. The children have worked incredibly hard on this and I am very proud of them.

In SPAG the children have been looking at different homophones 

On Thursday, the children spent one of their class attendance vouchers on hot chocolate! The children loved drinking their hot chocolate whilst watching a recent clip of David Attenborough’s Blue Planet. Well done everyone!

Our ‘Star of the Week’ is Miles because he has been working hard on his writing and his maths skills. Well done Miles!

We received thirty four handshakes which meant we won class of the week! Well done everyone!

3rd December 2017

In English the children have been writing and then working together to edit their adventure stories. The children have had some fantastic ideas and written super pieces of work.

In Maths we have been continuing our work on fractions. So far, they have been simplifying, comparing, ordering and finding equivalent fractions. Next week, they will be moving onto adding and subtracting fractions.

In ICT the children have been making their own e-safety posters using Microsoft Publisher.

Our ‘Star of the Week’ is Jayden because he has been trying hard to present his work neatly and he has been doing some super work in maths. Well done Jayden! 

We received thirty four handshakes which normally would have won us the prize of Class of the Week. Unfortunately, this week another class just beat us!

In English the children have been practising using dialogue to move their story forward as well as using powerful language to describe a character and setting.

In Maths we have started our new topic, fractions! So far, the children have completed their ‘cold task’ and they have been looking at equivalent fractions as well as how to simplify fractions.

In Topic the children have been finishing off their work on Charles Darwin.

In PE the children have been working on their throwing and catching skills. The photos can be seen here.

Our ‘Star of the Week’ is Daniel because of his fantastic attitude! Daniel always tries his best and he has been really impressing me with his maths work. Well done Daniel!

Skye, Faith, Josh, Talula and Isabelle also received their pen licences this week! Jaime, Skye, Anu and Katie received theirs earlier on in the year. Well done to all of you for your hard work, dedication and determination!

In English the children have been continuing their work on narrative writing. We have been looking at an example to discuss and then the children used drama to convey the character and atmosphere of the story.

In Maths the children have been finishing off their work on number and calculations. Next week, we will be moving onto fractions.

In Topic the children have begun to write a diary entry from Charles Darwin’s point of view about his voyage to the Galapagos Islands.

This week has also been anti-bullying week. Throughout the week, we have been talking about the impact bullying has on others and the children produced some fabulous posters.

On Friday the children dressed up in something spotty for Children in Need. The pictures of their fantastic outfits can be seen here.

Our ‘Star of the Week’ is Aidan because he has been working incredibly hard on his spelling. Well done Aidan!
