Carr Hill's Got Talent
We all know that our children work their hardest throughout the school year to do their best and achieve as much as they can. Every year at this time though, the heat is on to see not, who is a marvellous mathematician, avid reader, super scientist and so on, but to see who will be crowned as the winner of ‘Carr Hill’s Got Talent’.
As usual, in the first round of auditions, the very difficult task was to decide who would be chosen for the final performance. On Friday 17th June, twenty-two nervous but excited children took to the stage to show off their skills in more ways than one. From the twelve different acts, our judges were themselves put to the test to choose the performers whom they felt had been the most original and entertaining.
After a dazzling array of singing, dancing, gymnastics and magic, the time had come to announce the final verdict. A reflection of the difficulty the judges had in coming to an agreement was that the First, Third and Fourth places were all tied.
Retaining the title of ‘Carr Hill’s Got Talent’ were last year’s winners Luke and Isla with their magic show along with Skye, who performed a flawless gymnastic routine. In second place was Ella, singing a song dedicated to her family, and in third place ‘The Vampettes’, singers and dancers, aka Charlotte, Mia, Isabella, Kayleigh and Poppy were tied with Frankie, Larissa and Charlotte performing an energetic zumba routine.
The remaining acts consisted of gymnasts, singers and dancers and were all awarded fourth place. These were: Shania and Lucy, April, Maddie and Dalia, Amelia, Molly and Lacie, Rosie and Scarlett. The whole evening would not have been the same without our very able and amusing presenters from Year 6: Brodie, Ruby, Beth, Izzy, Abi and Libby, all of whom did a fantastic job of entertaining the audience and bringing the whole thing together – watch out Ant and Dec!
