This week in English we have been looking at non-fiction books and discussing their features. We have learnt that some of their features are different to fiction/story books. We sorted a range of books into non-fiction and fiction.
Can you tell people at home some of the features of non-fiction books?
We have also begun our new topic about Keeping Fit and Healthy. We have used non-fiction books to answer some of our initial questions about this topic; What healthy food can we eat? How often do I need to exercise?
We have been practising writing question sentences and trying hard to remember the question mark at the end of the sentence.
In maths we have been learning about Multiplication, and making equal groups of objects.
The children had an opportunity to use equipment to make equal sets of objects and work out how many groups of …?
Some children showed their understanding by writing the multiplication using the correct symbols.
We had a fantastic World book Day on Thursday.
The children all looked brilliant dressed up as a book character and we enjoyed sharing stories and learning new ones during the day.
Here we all are taking part in ‘Books and Biscuits’.
Well done to this week’s Super Stars Bobby and Lilly for completing their Star Charts and William for his excellent reading at home and school.
We have 12 handshake this week!
