Welcome back after the half term break.
This week we have continued to work on our Fire! Fire! Topic and in English have been learning how to write a report about The Great Fire of London.
We have used a text map to help us plan our writing. We have tried to answer questions about the event to make sure we have included the main facts.
We continue to work on our writing targets, and learning to write in sentences that make sense.
Please keep practising
In Maths we have been using whole part grids to help us learn our number pairs and work out missing numbers.
We have also use the whole part grid to make inverse calculations.
Let’s make an addition
and a subtraction
using the numbers in the grid?
6 + 4 = 10
4 + 6 = 10
10 – 4 = 6
10 – 6 = 4
We are learning to recognise that when we know one number calculation we can work out the other related calculations.
We have learnt how to experiment to test what material would be suitable for a bucket to hold water in case we needed to put out a fire.
We tested a range of materials and concluded that plastic would be the best.
We discussed why other materials would not be any good and had some sensible ideas and predictions.
Well done to this week’s Super Stars Lilly, Halle and Evie for completing their Star Charts and Bobby for working hard in Maths to make lots of inverse calculations using his whole part grid.
We have 23 handshake this week!
We won! Yeah! Well done everyone. We collected the Trophy and poster and they are being displayed in our classroom this week. We are all very proud of our achievement.
Lasts weeks attendance was 97.6%
