# 9th October 2017

Another good week in Captain Cook’s Class.

We have been planning and writing some new instructions. This time we are writing instructions for How to make a jam sandwich.

We made a text map first. We use our text map when writing and look closely to copy important words and features. It helps us think about what our instructions will need; such as a title, numbers and bossy words.

Can you see all of these things on Rowan’s text map?

We have written our instructions, and have tried hard to remember what instructions look like and what a sentence needs.

I was very impressed with the effort that Kai showed. He worked hard to remember some capital letters and full stops as well as some of the features of instructions.

In Maths we have worked on ordering amounts  in different ways, from the greatest to the smallest or smallest to greatest.
We used objects to help us.

We have also been learning about ordinal numbers. We had a car race and labelled our cars to show what position they came in.

We have 5 handshakes this week!
This weeks  Superstar is Laila, eho has worked hard to try and write sentences with capital letters and full stops.

Well done Jenson for being Explorer of the Week!  You have worked hard this week to improve your pencil control.

Meet our Green Champions, James and George are going to meetings and finding out all about how to recycle and keep our school using less energy.

Meet our Class School Councillors. We all voted for who we wanted to represent our class at meetings to discuss what happens in school and to put forward new ideas.

Lasts weeks attendance was 97.5%
