What a great start to the year for Captain James Cook’s class!

We all settled into the new routines really well, and I am sure we are all going to enjoy our time in Captain James Cook’s Class.

We have had a busy week. To help us with our story telling and to learn more about Roald Dahl’s The BFG,  we had a visit from a Theatre Group on Thursday.
Here are some pictures showing us catching dreams like the BFG and listening to the story and making our own sound effects.

We worked as a class then got together as a Year Group to perform The BFG to the Year Three classes.

We have been working hard in English to learn the Roald Dahl story: The Enormous Crocodile.
We have been retelling it in our own words, making sure we use some of the VIP words form the text.
We have also used headbands to show which character we are playing in our class retelling sessions.

In Maths we have been improving our counting and writing of numbers in order. We have used ten grids to help us show different amounts.

We enjoyed giving a crocodile some new teeth and counting the different amounts of teeth other crocodiles had.

This week’s Super Stars are Bobby and Zach for retelling some of The Enormous Crocodile story very well, and for Jessica for trying hard to improve her handwriting.
